Apartment Duomo

about

The interior design is conceived as an exhibition-like journey where historic architecture hosts an extensive collection of contemporary art and design icons. The layout is defined by herringbone parquet flooring and muted wall tones, such as the living room’s sage green, where mid-century-style furnishings dialogue with large abstract canvases and lush greenery.

The heart of the home reveals dramatic solutions, including a backlit curved bookcase that follows the profile of an alcove and a kitchen defined by a pop-art grid of colorful portraits, contrasted with the precision of an industrial swing-arm lamp. The corridors, transformed into galleries, are punctuated by circular-patterned rugs, large mirrored surfaces, and slender sculptures that lead toward the sleeping quarters, characterized by large windows overlooking the historic urban fabric. The design concludes with bold bathrooms, where yellow tiles and grids of black and white portraits create a sophisticated interplay of gazes and material contrasts.
